Monogram Etiquette


Traditional Monogram
In a traditional three letter monogram, the left letter represents the first name, the middle letter represents the last name, and the right letter represents the middle name. 
Example: Katherine Davis Edwards 
Three Letter Monogram
This monogram is straight across with all letters being the same size, in the order of first, middle, last.
Example: James Kevin Daugherty
Stacked Monogram
The left top letter represents the first name, the left bottom letter represents the middle name while the large letter on the right represents the last name.
Example: Charlie Eric Johnson
Married Monogram
When using a monogram for a couple, traditionally the letter on the left represents the wife's first name, the right letter represents the husband's first name and the middle letter represents the last name
Example: Mary and Bill Smith
